Typical project scope

Base Performance drivers are not only drivers, but a core part of an integrated simulator development team. Having worked with a number of renowned clients over a considerable number of years, our experience will guide a project towards its ultimate goal to reach a team's key objectives for not only their present programme but for future ventures too.

Drivers involved in the initial decision-making phase can advise companies on the correct selection of off the shelf simulator hardware and software, recommending the simulation functionalities that add most value to a project.

Example:

  • Initiate consultations with lead engineers to understand objectives, set development direction and prioritise work streams
  • Provide advice on vehicle model software and hardware features to meet customer budgets
  • Help create a development programme schedule, outlining optimum use of Base Performance driver days according to a set budget
  • Systematically work through and develop car systems, set-up components and vehicle models within a desired contract length. With a Formula One team for example, a driver would typically work around 5-10 days per month during the development phase for the length of the contract
  • Supply continual training and guidance for test and race drivers on how to continue simulator development once it is a workable tool (if a Base Performance driver is not required after development phase)
  • Follow-up consultations and continual evaluations

Base Performance drivers can also provide advice and support, often reviving long-term projects with a fresh approach usually in situations where the simulator is not delivering the desired results or expected benefits.
